Progress Resumes - Finally

I see wood!

If you’re wondering why you haven’t seen a post in awhile from the ‘ol Barter House it’s because there hasn’t been anything to update everyone on… It’s been a bit painful trying to get the framers on site to knock out the first floor interior walls & second story floor joists… well, today that all changed slowly turning our frowns upside down.

A Chance of Snow Mixed in with Some Frozen Sub-floors

SMUs

Unfortunately (for the kids), we didn’t get too much accumulation over the weekend… I guess the “snow song and dance” didn’t meet Simon’s expectations and no ticket to Hollywood was granted (I’m not too sure on the specifics) nor did Snow Miser persuade his hot-headed brother to allow enough of the white stuff to fall on SouthTown USA. Either way - the kids gathered up enough snow to build a 8″ snowman they lovingly called “Snowy”.

Yesterday (in 20 degree weather) I headed out to the barter house & took a few quick pictures. We’re set to begin interior framing later this week (once the ice on the sub-floor melts).

The Barter House: We’ll leave the light on for you.

I drove by the barter house on my way home last night & was able to capture some images on my phone before the sun set completely. They poured the concrete walls/lintels earlier in the day (right before today’s snow).

While I was there I received a couple of technology crisis calls; domain down, laptop crash, data recovery needed, new computer build - a typical Friday night. I sure am happy there is an IT need in the construction industry. Long live the barter house!

I’ll do my best to get some snow shots tomorrow if I can. Enjoy your weekend.

A Real Camera, but a Cloudy Day

I finally had my camera with me to try and capture some nice pictures of the barter house progress, but rain threatened all day and we were stuck with gray skies.

We have a meeting scheduled for tomorrow morning to verify the window rough openings… we shall see!
