Puto Bijotes Y Goto Tambin - What Does it Mean?

Puto Bijotes Y Goto Tambin

“Puto Bijotes Y Goto Tambin”. What does the phrase that will live inside the barter house patio seat wall forever mean?

I don’t know, however I can piece some of it together from my days growing up in Lorain, Ohio. And when my wife called to tell me about the message she had found inscribed in concrete - I felt like old Ben Kenobi: “Puto, Now, that’s a name I’ve not heard in a long time. A long time”.

Anyways, this week as you can see the footings were poured to support the barter house “HGTV a.k.a We Like To Entertain” patio and the framers began constructing the interior walls on the second floor. I walked the house this evening & I’m a bit concerned at a few of the spaces - we might need to rethink some dimensions - more to come.

You may also notice that I have added Ads to the Barter House blog. Feel free to visit our sponsors’ sites - it may just help fund a door chime.

Concrete Framing on the Barter House is Done

The Upper Maze

5 months after we cut down the first tree on the barter house lot, the concrete exterior framing is finally complete. Yep, 5 months. Needless to say, we’re happy to be moving on. I haven’t heard when the interior framing crew is scheduled to be there, but I hope this week.

Enjoy these lastest images from the barter house.

Why Not Another 2,000 Lbs?

R+L Trucking

Weeks ago we cleaned out the warehouse when we ordered nearly 10,000 lbs. of flooring. At the time we thought it would be enough because we would tile the bathrooms, the laundry room and carpet the kids’ room. Think again. We decided to be consistent throughout. We’re going for hardwoods in the baths (call us crazy) and we’ll throw down a rug in the kids’ room for some extra padding.

We met the delivery truck mid-day on Thursday <Happy Valentine’s Day> and had to unload the pallet by hand onto the sidewalk (a neighbor was moving and he was not willing to share the drive). It didn’t take too long to unload, but carrying 2,000 lbs. around the side and into the garage made this barter house man take an afternoon nap!

I wonder… will we be seeing anymore R+L trucks in our future?

This is how we roll…Do you think we’ll see them again?Sidewalk Sale Anyone?Anyone up for moving 2,000 lbs of flooring? It’s easier if you don’t think about!

The Night Off: An Evening with Dick Vitale, Stacey Dales, Ron Paul (maybe) and Brett Hautop

Duke: Cameron Indoor Stadium

Our architect, Brett Hautop of Vernacular Studio scored some tickets to last night’s Duke game against Maryland. For the most part we just really enjoyed the game and each other’s company instead of discussing the barter house and everything that goes along with it.

Thanks dude!
