The Headers Don’t Line Up - Uh…

Prepping

Clean Lines. It’s what makes modern - modern. The expansion lines for the stucco are meant to emphasize this point. We found out late last week that a couple of the header heights were off - specifically the french doors and the windows in the rear of the house. The plan showed 1 continuous line wrapping that corner of the house and tying them all together. No such luck with our framing crew (more about them later - maybe). Anyhow, early detection and several phone calls led to a quick fix that should look just as good as what was planned (or at least we hope).

By next weekend the house should look that much closer to completion! Hip Hop Hooray… ho… hey.. ho.

Spray Foam Insulation by Allied Spray Foams

Spray Foam Insulation

Spray Foam Insulation is complete at the Miller Barter House (with the exception of the basement). Allied Spray Foams finished cleaning up the site late this week in preparation of drywall. Things are moving fast now and we’re excited to see it progress. I’ll post more about the drywall soon. It’s just been nuts.

Safety First…. or Second

OSHA APPROVED

So if the slogan isn’t “Safety First“, I’m thinking it’s “Whatever It Takes“. This looks like a true Miller makeshift, but my father, nor I can take credit for this one. Just wait until we lay the hardwood flooring - then you’ll see some tricks that are YouTube-worthy.

The Stucco crew began setting up scaffolding today at the modern barter house. Their set to begin slapping it on tomorrow.

Brett from Vernacular Studio finished up the stucco joint elevation drawing today. Those images are below.

Enjoy.
