Dennis Bryant Jr. of Wet Dreams Irrigation has been working hard the past couple of weeks on the barter house yard. Dennis, the owner of Wet Dreams Irrigation, is the latest Barter House partner. The agreement includes a conversion of their company site to Wordpress in exchange for a 8-zone irrigation system at a very competitive price. His hard work and dedication to customer service led to our decision on hiring him to install the rest of the landscaping. If you live in the Triangle in NC and are looking for an irrigation installer - consider Wet Dreams Irrigation.
Bob Stockford of Stockford Construction is the latest partner to sign-up with the Barter House. Bob and his crew will be building the ipe stair by hand in the next few weeks. ConnectedNChas begun developing his new site - see insidetrim.com for a sneak peak. Once again, comments are welcome.
These images are from Stockford’s work on another Vernacular Studio project, The Dodge Residence.
Just as the title suggests, the low voltage wiring for the barter house is part do-it-yourself, part barter and mostly bought on eBay.
There will be about 2,000 feet of speaker cable in the walls, probably 4,000+ feet of cat5/cat6 and another 4,000 feet of quad-shielded rg6…. oh yeah and about 5,000 feet of the high voltage stuff (romax) too. I had to melt down about 300,000 pennies in order to get that much copper (follow me?) between the studs.
The Barter House signed up with Carolina Cable & Network Systems Inc. out of Apex, NC to do the install. Connected NC will be creating a new website for the firm in the next few weeks. Thanks to Steve and his boys for going the extra mile (1 mile = 5,280 feet).
After months of working out programming kinks, the new digital home of Vernacular Studio went live today. The floor plans and elevations of the Miller Barter House are complete and so is the javascript and php! Let’s all celebrate.
